    Failed, but printable?!? I really don't get it. Could you please
modify "c = 129;" to say 167 (to see if it gives the failed U+00A7, the
roman8 U+00CF, or the expected U+017E).

    Anything new on the ncurses/gcc/libiconv compile mess?
