I tweaked it a little bit. Here's what I ended up with in my
~/.mutt/aliases file: 

alias normal_joe   Normal Joe  <normal_joe@xxxxxxxxxxx>
alias updates      Mama        <mom@xxxxxxxx>, \
                   Pa          <dad@xxxxxxxxxxxx>, \
                   Bro         <brother@xxxxxx>

Works like a charm and it's easy to maintain. I can see the name of the
person and their e-mail address. Adding and deleting and changing will
be easy.
