In EBCDIC, this would probably fail, but is it supported by Mutt?

Probably, as on the Zaurus, typing '\' in a terminal gives ¥ with
some fonts. But I don't know if this is because the corresponding
charset is not ASCII-based or because the font doesn't conform to
the standards.
