To add, I am not saying it be banned or heavily regulated, but
if it is a sort of "speculation", there can be a minimum set of
rules for trading such commodity or asset as are common
in most commodity trading or asset/financil trading. However,
since gTLD space has essentially no national jurisdiction,
it is not easy to come up with that kind of rules to be
in place. Thus current state is largely "laissez-faire" which
I am not sure is the best way for the long run.
This may not be the direct concern of the ordinary Internet
users in their every day use of Internet, but I think it is
in the realm of "Pubilc Interest" for which individuals are
laregely affected as an aggregated actor.
