The other way to do it is to have this behavior vary based on folder
rather than based on message. I do something like this:
folder-hook . 'bind pager,index l list-reply'
folder-hook . 'bind pager,index r reply'
folder-hook 'Subscribed' 'bind pager,index r list-reply'
folder-hook 'Subscribed' 'bind pager,index l reply'
