That is correct but a perfect MUA should interface with that outside
thing so the adjustments to the sorting policies could be made "online".

For instnace if I define basic rules via reg expressions for my
mailboxes but then I receive an email from a new friend and I need to
place that email and all upcoming emails from him into Friends bin: MUA
better interface with the "sorter". Then I will not need manually adjust
the sorting rules. This is what I was asking a couple of weeks ago on
the mailing list but nobody replies: did anyone setup mutt to easily
adjust sorting policies for any mail processor? I would greatly appreciate
fresh ideas because I'm about to switch to multiple folders instead of
the one long box, but I don't want to have rules hardcoded in some
config file. I better have that file+facility to expend rules with
custom ones created directly from mutt
