Nothing sure can be guessed.
Take a look at Debian Bug #247366/249588 "segfaults on mbox with
binary junk in headers" to see if it applies to your case. It's at
<URL:http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=247366> and
contains a fixing patch. Perhaps?
