Lots of problems, for instance:
  * ambiguous (someone may send a subject that looks like that,
    e.g. when using the same method :);
  * when replying / forwarding the message / ..., the subject gets
    modified (and it isn't always possible to remove the tag and
    again it would be ambiguous);
  * not configurable (once the message is stored in the mailbox);
  * takes place in the index (part of not being configurable) and
    not always visible (in deep reply trees);
  * bad alignment in the index (as the subjects are not aligned in
    reply trees);
  * obfuscates the reply trees in the index (since the subject is
    no longer constant).
