It is designed to be compatible with the muttrc way.  You might want to
look at my previous post on this topic:
http://does-not-exist.org/mail-archives/mutt-dev/msg00157.html .

You might even want to try it out or look at the source [0].  However,
even if it is in a `usable' state, there is still quite some work to be
done.
