Worse: nobody knows the answer. :)
In order to fill out a bug report (at bugs.mutt.org), you're going to
need to tell them what sort of IMAP server you're talking with, and a
.muttdebug0 file would be very helpful as well. The reason for that is
that the .muttdebug0 file (generated when you run mutt with, for
example, the flags -d 2) will contain all of mutt's communication with
the IMAP server.
If you post that file somewhere someone may be able to help you a bit
better, or at least it would be important information for filing a bug
report..
