It's been about 5 years since I used xemacs, and I never used the GNU version of emacs, cuz I always thought xemacs was better... so I may just be confused. But... With xemacs and gnuclient, IIRC you used the -nw option to do this. I assumed emacsclient had something similar, but looking on the 'Net, it doesn't seem that emacsclient has a comparable option. > As for modes, emacs currently brings up mail in fundamental mode.
