I don't know: some months ago I saw some reference to possibly slang doing
256 colors, but on investigation found that it wasn't doing that -
including seeing some comment written by John Davis (though it's possible
someone has a patch). ncurses doesn't (a terminfo application could of
course, but that's different). The limitation is on where the bits are
stored.
In that picture, I can't see more than about 12 different colors.
