locales de_DE but no "umlaute" and "sz" after update

Hello,

yesterday i have upgraded to 1.5.6i and had to change my muttrc because
I have gotten some errors with "alternates" and some other things...

I am running Debian GNU/Linux 3.0r2 (WOODY)

Now I have the problem, that whenever I write a new Messages it spans
'mcedit' (my editor) but I can not use "umlaute" and "sz" anymore.

I have started 'mc' seperatly and it is set to 8-Bit input and output.

Is there a new seting in 'mutt' ?

Oh yes, if I use "tr_TR", 'mutt' does not work anymore.

My system is a Multi-User/Multi-Language and I need it urgently.
Please note, that I can not use "UTF-8".

Greetings
Michelle
