macro index \cD "<delete-thread><collapse-thread><next-unread><collapse-thread>"

As far as I can tell from the manual, though, "<delete-thread><tab>"
or "<delete-thread>\t" or "<delete-thread>^I" should do what you
want.  Perhaps there is a problem with combining <function> and
<key>.
