As I wrote, this won't help. The problem is with older mutts, that when
you sync-mailbox, the changes you make do _not_ make it into header
cache. Thus, when you open the folder the next time, mutt takes what the
header cache has which is _not_ the edited version. Up to some weeks the
header cache was append-only and not updateable. As a result, it had to
be wiped from time to time to make certain things work.
All that is fixed in the latest version.
