I use fetchmail to get my mail from multiple accounts and procmail to filter
it into separate mbox files, that I then read with mutt. Although as others
have suggested getmail4 seems popular.

I am also interested to know how others solve the multiple account issue for
sending mail. In my case, I use mutt with exim.

My configuration involves a script that I call as a macro from within mutt,
that reconfigures and restarts exim4 each time I want to change the account
that I send from. This seems a bit crazy to me, but it works reliably.

The reason I do it this way is that I found when using exim4 with a single
smarthost, using the "my_hdr From: email@address" approach to writing a
different From: email address did not work. The From: field gets overwritten
down the line.

What other ways do people use to change the email account that they are
sending from within mutt, and if anyone has improvements for my approach I
am happy to hear them.

Kind Regards,
Jaime
