Well, that's really a question more appropriate for the vim mailing
list.
But, for what it's worth, according to the vim spell-quickstart, to
turn on spell checking, you'd use this:
:setlocal spell spelllang=en_us
To switch the dictionary, you'd tell it to use a different language,
i.e.:
:setlocal spell spelllang=nl
For more details run the following command within vim:
:help spell-quickstart
