I've got gnupg 1.4.4 running here and haven't had trouble replying to
traditional (aka inline) pgp messages. I'm not sure if any of the
replies I've sent were specifically to pine users or not, but replying
to your message here has worked. I'm using the gpg.rc that's shipped
with 1.5.11 from CVS on April 6, 2006.
The only difference I noticed in your commands from those in the
gpg.rc I am using is the charset option. I'm not sure that would
cause the error you're getting. It might be worth trying to use the
stock gpg.rc and see if the error persists. If not, change things
slowly and see when it breaks (though I'm surely not telling you
anything you don't already know :).
Sorry I don't have a useful answer Just hoping that a confirmation
that it does work for me might help.
