 ARS is in my ~/Mail directory. Without `=' it says ARS is not a
 mailbox.

 After losing some more hair, I found that a freshly installed Debian
 testing mutt package (1.5.9i) without any .muttrc behaves a bit
 differently: after setting content_type, it invokes the editor
 _without_
 any argument, so the message body simply cannot be saved.

 I believe this is a bug in the development version around content_type.
 You are probably using the stable (1.4) version, that's why you do not
 face the problem.

 Anyways, thanks for the advices. Does anyone know where the bug list
 can
 be found?
