 Right, but what if the message-id is invalid? I think mutt should make 
 up a set containing (uniquely) all valid entries from the Message-ID and 
 In-Reply-To headers (for the latter minus those which could be a mail 
 address). Then mutt needs to thread the message.
 
 If Message-ID has invalid syntax but In-Reply-To contains a valid 
 header, everything is fine IMHO.
