Sitting in some hotel room in Edinburgh without proper Internet
access, I have to second-guess a bit here, based on what I read
here... If the only performance impact we have is that some
newly-introduced patterns are slow, I'd say go ahead. We have
some fairly slow patterns in there already.
If the performance impact is on things like moving through the
index (which I seem to understand it isn't), I'd be more
reluctant.
