Hmm. The main idea I proposed the auto-generation of reldate.h from the 
ChangeLog file is that people can find out more easily along with 
ChangeLog and UPDATING which changes were made since their last upgrade 
(and therefore the dates).

My main idea is to help people going with the devel series as for the 
stable series, there are/will be separate documents already. So there 
won't be such a release without feature changes... :)

Okay, this looks better than mine. Maybe we can also add:

But I still wonder if we can append the date like so:

Mutt 1.5.11 (2005-09-15):

  M $envelope_from is now a deprecated alias for
    $use_envelope_from (2005-09-14)

...because if doesn't really destroy the compactness and this document 
is supposed to help in the future and not for past releases.
