Here are the index commands I'm referring to:

z<Return>  current-top      move entry to top of screen
z-         current-bottom   move entry to bottom of screen
zz         current-middle   move entry to middle of screen

These commands are available in the default mutt installation.  But the
binding has obviously been customized in my .muttrc file.  I apologize
for forgetting about that in my original reply.

I meant z followed by a carriage return.
