mutt reply enconding problem

Hello,

I 'm running mutt-1.5.16 within an xterm configured to use a utf-8 display
font. mutt's $charset=utf-8 and $send_charset="us-ascii:iso-8859-7:utf-8",
I use vim as an editor for composing e-mails with
:fileencodings=utf-8,iso-8859-7,ascii, :encoding=utf-8, and
:terminalencoding=utf-8. The following problem was also tested against
1.5.18.

I 've a problem when replying to certain iso-8859-7 emails, having also set
$edit_headers=yes, when quoting the origin message everything goes fine,
although charset=utf-8 is set in the Content-Type hdr of my reply (is this
OK?, shouldn't it be iso-8859-7?).

When I don't quote the origin message, vim fires up and opens eg.
/tmp/mutt-123-3. Suppose I 'm writing some non-ascii characters and doing :w
in vim. I 'm opening another terminal and I 'm doing iconv -f iso-8859-7 -t
utf-8 /tmp/mutt-123-3 then everything is printed correctly as expected.
However, returning to mutt's terminal, ending the reply, postponing, and
going to =postponed, the reply's body is unreadable both in mutt pager and in
the
filesystem (black '?' in white background, sort of conversion error).
Furthermore the reply's body is neither utf-8 nor 8859-7. In
addition, note that this happens only if $edit_headers=yes *and* the subject
line contains at least one non-ascii characters.

Why is this happening?

Thanks
D.
