I have automatic key retrieval enabled in gpg, and automatic signature
verification disabled in mutt.  And these two macros:

macro   index   \Cv     "<enter-command>set 
pgp_verify_sig=yes<enter><display-message><enter-command>set 
pgp_verify_sig=no<enter>" "Verify PGP signature"
macro   pager   \Cv     "<enter-command>set 
pgp_verify_sig=yes<enter><display-message><enter-command>set 
pgp_verify_sig=no<enter>" "Verify PGP signature"


When I really care about a signature, I view the message with ^V.
