/home/user/Mail vs /home/user/mail

I just set up a new pc, and for some reason I decided to set my
mailboxes to /home/user/mail instead of the default /home/user/Mail

Trouble is now the "=mailbox" pattern for macros etc doesn't work.
ANd when I start up, mutt wants to create /home/user/Mail etc.

I have searched through all of my .muttrc and includes and do not
have *any* reference to .*Mail anywhere.

Extract from .muttrc :

mailboxes `echo /home/troy/mail/*`
# the line below is wanting to create /home/troy/Mail/trash
macro index d "s=trash\n<sync-mailbox>" "move message to trash"

Any ideas?
