Hrm. And none in your .muttrc either? I tried this on a FreeBSD system
(mutt 1.5.8 from ports w/ ncurses 5.2), and mutt -F /dev/null (or with
my colors commented out of my .muttrc) comes up with no color.

Maybe send along your "mutt -v" output?
