If you have mutt compiled with +DEBUG, then if you start mutt with
the -d option followed by an integer to specify the debug level,
mutt will write debug information to a file named .muttdebug0 in
your home directory. If mutt finds a file by that name already in
your home directory, it will increment that trailing digit until it
finds an unused name. At some level--I've forgotten which--the
debug information includes the searching and parsing of mailcap
files.
