mutt not reading any mailcap

Hi Folks!

I have a funny PRoblem mutt is not reading any mailcap file at all.
I am using the actual mutt ebuild of the gentoo linux distribution and I
found no occurences that they are removing mailcap support or such...

[konsti@sexmachine]> cat .mutt/muttrc|grep mailcap
set mailcap_path="/home/konsti/.mailcap" 

[konsti@sexmachine]> strace -Ff -o mutt.strace.txt mutt
[konsti@sexmachine]> grep mailcap mutt.strace.txt
[konsti@sexmachine]>

So it is not even looking for any mailcap file. Does anybody know why
that could be?
