I am using the patch-1.5.6.vvv.nntp and get "Checking for new messages..." for 10 minutes or more on startup - how do I stop that. There are many other examples of real slowness with this patch that makes it very painful to use. Perhaps I am doing something wrong. Any help? -- Eric Smith
