envelope thing was Re: Mutt and SMTP Outbound

hi

am using nbsmtp-0.8 to send mails from
mutt@osx(panther) < installed with fink

things seems to be working fine
but a person @ the japanese-osx-mailing list
warned me to be sure that
the envelope aspect of unix-oriented MUA is working safely

frankly
don't even know what to & how to check this thing

can mutt be dangerous?
if so
it's not mutt is to be blamed of
but nbsmtp?

am sending this mail from
micro_thangs@xxxxxxxxxxx
by doing

set from="micro_thangs@xxxxxxxxxxx"

@ ~/.muttrc

and because my network provider is so-net
i also have

set sendmail ="/usr/local/bin/nbsmtp -d db3.so-net.ne.jp -h
mail.db3.so-net.ne.jp -f igor@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

over there

the envelope thing is left as default since .muttrc says

# set envelope_from=no
#
# Name: envelope_from
# Type: boolean
# Default: no
#
#
# When set, mutt will try to derive the message's envelope
# sender from the "From:" header. Note that this information is passed
# to sendmail command using the "-f" command line switch, so don't set this
# option if you are using that switch in $sendmail yourself,
# or if the sendmail on your machine doesn't support that command
# line switch.

mmm..
the warning person says
"it's not how it is set that is important
but how it is resulting into"

are people doing something special to send things from mutt?

oh

am not using Postfix
because people told me that
activating a server for small private mail sending
nothing more than dangerous

any info helps

thank you! in advance
