Yet another option, of course, is to use the lbdb. Still another option that comes to mind is my own address book system with a tiny modification (which I can do myself, if you're interested) to introduce another special group where the global namespace isn't polluted (as the from group already works). Then, you setup procmail to auto-add anybody who emails you to your address book under the new group (which again can be done with a simple script), and you can easily find anybody you want by filling in the group name and searching Mutt's address book (which is autogenerated from mine). If you're interested in that option, have a look at my configuration directory [1]. The makealiasesrc script does most of the work with the nonlist address book. (Lists have their own setup, and makenewlistsrc generates Mutt's list config from newlists.)
