Yes, but not all Linux/Unix MUAs do read standard mailbox format, e.g.
Netscape and Mozilla don't.  If Mozilla did read standard mbox it
would be my answer as I use it as my browser at the moment but there's
no way it's going to 'mix' with mutt eaily.

Evolution is probably a bit to much of the kitchen sink, sylpheed may
be a good one to look at, I've seen other favourable comments about
it.

No I'm not aiming to do that, not on purpose at least.
