with Maildir you don't need locking, but

> /home/tim/Mail/Gnome

/home/tim/Mail/Gnome/
                    ^
the terminating directory slash.

You might want to poke around a bit in man 5 procmailrc for
things like $MAILDIR, $DEFAULT etc.
