Encoding problem

Hi, I've decided to change the default encoding of my system from
iso-8859-2 (latin2, pl_PL) to utf-8 (pl_PL.utf8) and am still struggling
a little with mutt/vim. I did look at:

http://wiki.mutt.org/?MuttFaq/Charset

but I still have something wrong :(

When I create a new message everything works fine. But when I try to
enter again the editor (gvim) to continue editing or answer a message
the special characters (polish ones) get garbled.

As for my settings in .muttrc I've got:

set charset=utf-8
set send_charset=utf-8
set attach_charset=utf-8

and .vim/ftplugins/mail:

set fileencoding=utf8
set fileencodings=utf8

Thank you for any suggestions!
