Prompt for, and remember, a password?

I've got mutt set up to use the MH inc command to retrieve mail from a pop 
server.  This let's me 
use MH's maildelivery to sort messages into folders, etc.

macro index G "!inc -user pfd@xxxxxxxxxxxxx\n"
macro pager G "!inc -user pfd@xxxxxxxxxxxxx\n"

Is there a way to get mutt to prompt me for the password, and then remember it 
so I won't have to 
re-type it each time I do a G?
