Ahhhh...

Thanks Kyle, that explains a lot. Unfortunately, the main thing I wanted (%N)
is the thing that appears not to work for me (Dovecot IMAP running of Fedora
8).

Your help has however allowed me to tidy up the folder display somewhat so
that I only have the folder number and its name.

Well, filesize would have been helpful, but this is of trivial importance
compared to the new messages flag.
