Mutt, as you know, will save them in whatever format the folder is 
that you specify.

Well, you can set up a macro to switch the mbox_type, just to save you 
some typing. But there's no way to change the mbox_type based on the 
name of the folder you're attempting to create. Perhaps if this also 
depended on some detail of the message...?
