Following up my own response: My index_format is now:

        "%3C %D %Z (%5l) %-40F %s"

when I look at the Inbox file, this string is perfect but when I look at
the Sent file, mutt is prepending "To " to the front of all the
addresses - can I turn that off somehow?

Thanks again,

Phil.
