source a file from a $VAR ?

Hello,

I have to source sometime mutt configs and I have mad a
little script which let me select one of it via a marcro:

    macro index <F7>  "!tdmuttsource\n:source $TDMS\n"
    macro pager <F7>  "!tdmuttsource\n:source $TDMS\n"

tdnuttsource is the BASH script which create a "dialog",
let me select the file and write it into the variable

    export $TDMS=<config>

But it does not work.  Any suggestions ?
