I assumed the wrapping of the text in the pager was mutt.

If I have $wait_key set and then view and pipe to cat(1) then
selection works fine. But, selection doesn't work if I pipe to
less(1). So it's not just mutt. Also, selecting does work in vim
(with wrap enabled and holding shift down to do an xterm select).

So it seem program dependent. So now I wonder if there's some
xresource that might control this or if the program has to be
specifically written to work like that. Seems like an xterm issue
because it's xterm that knows which characters make up the selection.

Again, it's really two related things I'm missing. One is being able
to copy quite a bit of text from the pager (to say another xterm
window) without \n added at places just based on how wide my mutt
xterm window happens to be, and the other is to be able to
double-click some long wrapped word (e.g. a long URL) and have it
highlighted.
