Ah, the ole old attachment directory problem ;-) Thomas Roessler posted a patch to mutt-dev on October 4th, with Message-ID: <20031004203653.GA20655@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> It seems to offer functionality you can use.
