Just a side note: This may not always work 100%. I've had problems with
this approach in the past when merging old mailboxes where the local
copies of mails I had sent myself did not have message ids (and hence
could not be filtered that way. I ended up using a modified version of
the "eliminate-dups" script for qmail in conjunction with formail. That
seems to work sufficiently well, though also not quite 100%.
