#3307: sort=threads misfiles replies

 Reporter:  brian   |       Owner:  mutt-dev
     Type:  defect  |      Status:  new
 Priority:  minor   |   Milestone:
Component:  mutt    |     Version:  1.5.18

 I sent a mail with subject "misc", Message-ID:
 <20090723134957.GA13976@doses>. I received a reply to that message having
 In-Reply-To: <20090723134957.GA13976@doses>. mutt placed the response
 under an unrelated message received two months ago having the subject
 "misc". mutt seemed to indicate that the match was tentative by putting
 *-> instead of just ->.

 Or, if you use sort=threads and have a mail with subject $SUBJECT, new
 mail sent to you with subject "Re: $SUBJECT" will appear as if it is part
 of the probably unrelated thread.

 I use maildirs INBOX and sent for incoming and outgoing mail respectively.
