Comment:

 What header cache engine are you using (qdbm, gdbm, bdb4)? I don't think
 time should affect the header cache. The CRC itself is an opaque number
 calculated at build time, and then simply stored on the first fetch and
 checked on subsequent ones, with no recalculation. Can you apply the patch
 I've attached and send me the .muttdebug0 file you get when you run
 patched mutt with -d2 and open an IMAP folder for the second time?
