 Makes sense.  On the Zaurus (pdaXrom) I had to disable even more
 iconv-hooks (different glibc or libiconv, no doubt).

 That's why I originally put them in (utf-8 didn't work without on
 Solaris 8, or maybe it was SunOS 5.6).
