-d2 should show STATUS commands (so you should definitely be seeing
them in 1.5.11 traces). Maybe your mailboxes command doesn't quite
match up with your open folder, and recent mutts are more finicky. Try
unsetting imap_passive - if that works, it's a clue that your
mailboxes command doesn't quite match the account info for your open
folder...

It'd also be good to see a comparison of the debug logs for 1.5.11 vs
1.5.13.
