A possible way was proposed by Łukasz in bug/1840 and in
unfortunately useless private followup: Something around setting a
"Return-Path:" header in the mail. Allegedly some $sendmail called MTAs
would be able to use it to set env sender, then strip it (if it wasn't
stripped long before by Mutt, main point of bug/1840). For SMTP sending
Mutt could itself do the same: Record RP in outbox, use its content as
MAIL FROM, and strip it from sent headers.

Note: I don't support this idea, just feed the debate. Consistency
across $sendmail, SMTP, and various MTA behaviours might be difficult to
build.

BTW how does SMTP sending obey to $envelope_from=no?

Bye! Alain.
