Pretty much the same for $copy, which is just the same as
setting/unsetting $record.

This could be achieved by having some special $from like "auto". Then
$use_from could be dropped.

The only advantage I see for having $copy & friends is that you can
"unset copy" and "set copy" without loosing the value of $record.
