honestly, i could not care less. i don't mind if in some cases i'm
virtually forced to use 8-col tabs instead of my preferred 4-col tabs.
that's the advantage of this style - it works with any tab width.
of course my code is formatted to fit into 80 cols only with 4-col tabs,
but that's only a minor nuisance, too.
